PERVAPORATION
What is Pervaporation?
Pervaporation is a membrane separation technology based on the physico-chemical interaction between the membrane and the permeating molecules. Highly hydrophilic materials, like polyvinyl alcohol, enhance selective sorption and diffusion of water through a thin dense membrane layer. Therefore, pervaporation is ideally suited for the dehydration of solvent mixtures, especially azeotropes where conventional technologies, like distillation, require complex and energy-intensive processes.

For challenging processes involving organic solvents purification processes at temperature higher than 80°C, robust membrane modules are required. DeltaMem cross-flow membrane module are in stainless steel components, the module tightness is ensured without using resins which make it suitable for tough cross-flow operations.
We supply turn key membrane cross-flow filtration plants, starting with pilot tests followed by process engineering.
ENGINEERING
DeltaMem develops technical solutions for challenging separations in partnership with industrial users. We perform process scale-up from few millilitres to some cubic meters of organic solvents, going through initial concept design, to process engineering till commissioning of turn-key plants.
Process modelling interfaced with proprietary software assists the design of unit operations and process set-up, thereby optimizing CAPEX and OPEX.
